Details have emerged as to why a number of Kenya Kwanza leaders were not treated well at the state house during the inauguration day.
While speaking in Naivasha, Nakuru county, deputy president Rigathi Gachagua apologized to leaders who felt that they did not get the necessary attention they needed at the statehouse after leaving the Kasarani stadium.
Gachagua also confessed that there was a lot of confusion and that most of the Kenya Kwanza leaders did not get invitations to attend the luncheon at statehouse after leaving the Kasarani stadium.
Consequently, the deputy president apologized as he revealed that the outgoing administration was responsible for all the confusion because they were not forthright with them.
He therefore promised that things would be very smooth going forward and that there would never be any inconvenience to Kenya Kwanza members whenever they need to meet and discuss issues at the statehouse.
The Kenya Kwanza leaders retreated to Naivasha where they are expected to discuss a number of critical issues including the leadership of both the two houses.
While the Azimio side have been claiming that they are the majority in parliament legally, the Kenya Kwanza has maintained that they are the majority given the recent defections by most members of parliament and senators allied to the Azimio side.
A document signed and deposited with the registrar of political parties barred members of these coalitions from leaving the party until 3 months after the general election. This implies that Azimio will take the majority leadership while Kenya Kwanza will take the minority leadership in both houses shall the law be followed strictly.
However, there are reports that the Kwanza side through their two speakers are planning to delay the whole process of naming the house leadership until the 3 months barring members from leaving their respective coalitions elapse.
