Wiper leader Steven Kalonzo Musyoka was amongst the dignitaries who attended the Mashujaa Day Celebrations at the Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi.
Kalonzo Musyoka who is a key figure in the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance was the most notable person to attend the function which was generally boycotted by majority of the Azimio affiliated figures.
Musyoka was seated next to the outgoing Energy Cabinet Secretary (CS) Dr. Monica Juma, who has since been appointed as the National Security Advisor in President William Ruto’s government.
Upon arrival, president Ruto only greeted a few people in front and he was not to reach where Kalonzo was thanks to the intervention by Mugirango South MP Silvanus Osoro who made sure H.E President William Ruto greeted him at the far end of the podium.
Well, sources reveal that Kalonzo was not expected at the Mashujaa day celebrations and that is why his seat was not preserved somewhere at the center near the president. The source added to Sonkonews that the organisers were 50 50, making them preserve some seats at the far end just in case any senior leader from the Azimio One Kenya Coalition showed up.
Ordinarily, Kalonzo Musyoka being a senior politician would have sat not very far from the head of state. Junior politicians like Sylvanus Osoro and Boni Khalwale would be the ones sitting at the far end and not the Wiper leader like it was at the Mashujaa Day celebrations.
There have been allegations that Kalonzo Musyoka might support the government of president Ruto given how the current president tried to woo him to his side in the run-up to August 9, 2022 presidential election.
Sources within political circles believe that Ruto might appoint Mr. Musyoka to represent Kenya at the international level so that he spearheads the agenda of the republic. The Wiper leader controls a large voting bloc and is regarded as the Ukambani kingpin.
