Dennis Itumbi has come under fire from a section of netizens after he posted an insensitive tweet directed at Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju.
The blogger said the party’s business could go on smoothly in absence of the SG who is currently admitted in ICU, Karen Hospital, after he was involved in an accident on Wednesday, February 12, at Kijabe along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.
In his post, the journalist called on the ruling party to replace Tuju with his deputy Soy MP Caleb Kositany. “To assist Jubilee Party to continue without interruptions and representation of the party in Cabinet, “on a need basis”, it is natural that the deputy SG Hon Caleb Kositany will be in-charge or so I think,” he argued.
Itumbi’s sentiments angered a section of Kenyans online with some arguing the Tanga Tanga wing of Jubilee could have hatched a plan to “eliminate” the former Rarieda MP. “Someone wanted Raphael Tuju dead! See God, he will heal him,” Thomas Amakanji said.
Other netizens joined in and condemned him over the tweet.
The blogger nevertheless, clapped back insisting the affairs of the party could not be grounded.
“Tuju is in hospital and recovering fine. However,as he recovers the party needs to continue operating. Two Jubilee MCAs have passed on. The party has yet to issue condolences to family. Etc,” he said.
