The Directorate of Criminal Investigations(DCI) has issued an alert on the presence of 8 terror suspects believed to be part of Al-shabaab terror goup.
In a statement shared on Twitter, DCI said that the suspects, who are armed and highly dangerous, have been dispatched in the country to commit terrorism.
DCI has called upon members of the public with information that will lead to the arrest of the suspects to volunteer to the police.
“The suspects who are highly trained, armed and dangerous have been dispatched to the country to commit acts of terror. Members of the public are asked to provide any information that may lead to their arrest through our #FichuakwaDCI HOTLINE number 0800 722 203. Usiogope!” the statement read.
The 8 have been identified as; Abdikadir Mohamed Abdikadir who is said to be involved in the planning of the Dusit attack of 2019 and 2010 Kampala bombing attacks.
Peter Gichungu Njoroge who holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Information Technology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Technology (JKUAT). He was arrested in Mandera Town enroute to join Al Shabaab in Somalia in 6th July 2016.
The third suspect is Mohamud Abdi Aden who hails from Garissa county and was part of the cell that planned the Dusit attack in January 2019.
Kassim Musa Mwarusi who comes from Ukunda and was a member of a criminal gang that operates in the South Coast region.
Mohamed Ali Husssein and Ahmed Ali Mohamed were both part of a foiled terror attack in 2018.
Abdurahman Hija who hails from Nyeri county was part of a criminal gang said to terrorize Nyeri residents before escaping to Somalia.
Finally, Erick Njoroge Wachira who hails from Nyeri and joined the terror group in 2016. DCI says that a member of a gang that conducted robberies in MukurweIni and Karatina.
