A Nairobi court has issued an arrest warrant against Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi
The court said Governor Kingi failed to appear in court severally in a case where four men allegedly attempted to extort him Ksh.30 million, leaving the case in suspense.
The court now wants the governor and other witnesses arrested and appears before the court tomorrow, Thursday for further direction.
Mombasa traders – Abdul Aziz Alim, George Ngugi, Moses Maluki, and Noah Akala Aduwo are being accused of trying to obtain Ksh.30 million from the governor.
The suspects denied the charges.

The suspects are alleged to have posed as detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), probing an alleged misappropriation of funds.
Reports say the offense was undertaken at the Gracia Hotel in Kilimani in June 2018.
