Antonio Conte hinted Friday that his future at Inter Milan remains uncertain after losing to Sevilla in the final of the Europa League.
Conte said he needed time to reflect after the 3-2 loss in the final left his Inter team the runner-up for the second time this season after finishing a point behind Juventus in Serie A.
“It´s only right that I start to reflect and to think about things. I also have a private life and I need to understand what´s going on,” he said through a translator. Taking the Inter job was worth it, “regardless of what will ultimately come to pass in the coming days,” he said.
Conte added: “I´ve had an incredible experience at this club, regardless of what will go on in the future. But I have no regrets whatsoever.”
After the last Serie A game of the season against Atalanta on Aug. 1, Conte said the club could have done more to protect the team from criticism and “attacks.” On Friday he pushed back at suggestions there could be a rift with club president Steven Zhang and Inter’s Chinese owners, saying his relationship with them remained “strong.”
Zhang praised Conte and his team for doing a “great job” in comments to broadcaster Sky Sport which Inter also published on its club website. “We´ll rest for a few days and plan for the future,” he added.
In England, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang suggested he has NOT been offered a new contract by Arsenal as his current deal continues to wind down.
However, the Gunners captain later suggested ‘great news for everybody’ may soon be coming.
The Gabon international remains locked in contract negotiations with the hierarchy at the Emirates, with his current deal set to expire next summer.
A new three-year deal, worth a reported £250,000-a-week, is said to be on the table as the 31-year-old considers his options.
Yet during an Instagram Live session alongside his brother, Willy, Aubameyang said: “Everyone is showing the pen & paper but I still don’t have the papers bruv!”
However, the forward suggested all was not lost as he implied he would have news imminently, saying: “Have a good night, enjoy and hopefully great news for everybody.”

Manchester United will look to establish the circumstances around Harry Maguire being arrested in Greece amid extraordinary allegations from the Hellenic Police including “attempted bribery” and assaulting local officers.
The United captain, 27, was detained in the early hours of Thursday local time with two other men in Mykonos and is set to face a public prosecutor in Syros, an adjacent island which handles public order in the southern Aegean. His hearing is set for Saturday morning which means two nights in a jail cell.
His club have been trying to find out whether there is substance to claims police were “insulted” and struck when they confronted the group Maguire was socialising with during his summer holiday.
Maguire was with team-mates Marcus Rashford and Brandon Williams during the day on the island that has been popular with Premier League footballers. It was later that evening when police were called to a confrontation between two groups of men.
