Detectives in Mombasa have arrested a university student with heroin with a street value of Ksh1.2 million.
According to a statement released by DCI the suspect was nabbed with the narcotics at his hostel.
“The Moi International Airport Anti-narcotics officers based in Mombasa yesterday recovered 300g of heroin from the house of a 24-year-old Technical University of Mombasa student,” DCI statement read in part.
“The detectives were acting on an intelligence report, which also led to the arrest of Killian Makuto Dunda (the student) at his Mshomoroni house, Kisauni sub-county,” it added.
The heroin was found wrapped in a polythene bag.
“Found wrapped in a clear polythene bag, the brownish/whitish drug which has an estimated street value of Sh1.2 million was tested on site, turning positive for heroin.”
The exhibit was secured pending further sampling at the government chemist, as the suspect awaits arraignment today.
