“Clout Chaser” Netizens Brand Johnson Sakaja After He Was Spotted With His Competitor

Nairobi senator has hinted on teaming up with Westlands Member of Parliament Tim Wetangula Wanyonyi ahead of the coming general elections.

This is after he shared their photos together captioning them, “‘Not me, it is us #LetsmakeNairobiwork #wearetogether’.

He however did not provide further details on what their discussion was based on considering that Wanyonyi is Azimio while Sakaja is supporting Kenya Kwanza.

Both have interests in becoming Nairobi governor. Sakaja will be flying the Kenya Kwanza flag on the gubernatorial race.

On the other hand, reports on early Friday indicated that Azimio team had agreed that Polycarp Igathe will be contesting for the gubernatorial position while Wanyonyi will  be his running mate after a meeting at Statehouse on the previous day.

Other reports indicated that the lawmaker dismissed the offer and was not settling for anything less than the gubernatorial position and this could possibly explain his evening meeting with Sakaja.

Earlier during the week, Luhya leaders in Nairobi protested Igathe’s entry in the gubernatorial race while demanding for a joint nomination between Jubilee’s Igathe and ODM’s Wanyonyi. The leaders insisted that they won’t be looked down upon or let themselves be used.

Reacting to Sakaja’s post, a number of Kenyans suggested that DP William Ruto had spotted an opportunity to bring another member to their side. Others went ahead to claim that he had given Wanyonyi millions for that.

“TRIBAL CARD will not work. POLITICIANS who FAILED to OVERSIGHT PLUNDER of Gv Sonko & Kidero should give way to COURAGEOUS TECHNOCRATS with PROVEN TRACK RECORDS like @polyncarpigatheto transform Nairobi,” George Nderi said.

“Why did you not post a pic while he was still your competitor now you are clout chasing bure kabisa umepoteza kura yangu,” read another comment.
