Catherine Kamau Opens Up About Man Who Fathered Her Firstborn Son While She Was Still A Student In Uganda

Catherine Kamau gave birth to her firstborn son Leon Karanja when she was only 19 years old and a college student in Uganda.

The sultry actress who was born on February 3rd 1987 was blessed with her first child in 2006 forcing her to return home and quit school altogether.

Speaking during an interview with Churchill, Catherine – who is famously known as Celina – opened up about the man who knocked her up while she was a student in Uganda.

The mother of two said that she met her first baby daddy, who is also a Kenyan, while schooling abroad.

The award winning actress said that on discovering she was pregnant she returned home in Kenya, wrote her mother a letter and eloped with the man who knocked her up.

“Coming from girls schools only, I found myself in a class with boys it was like freedom, in a dorm with boys. I could go out, tunaduna, nikakula baing, nikapokea aki my mum had taken a 400k loan to educate me. I don’t understand how it was a shock to me yet I wasn’t on contraceptives.. I never understood anything about contraceptives.

“At the time my mum was out of the country. I wrote her a letter, and disappeared. She came back and told my friend that I should go back home. Kajamaa kalinipea character development, ni gaidi wa huku tuu, tulikutana huko- we met in Uganda at the University- by the way alikuwa very supportive sana so nilikaa huko home,” said Catherine Kamau.

Her come-we-stay marriage with her baby daddy didn’t last long, they broke up and Catherine was a single mom for many years until she met her current husband Phillip Karanja.

Catherine and Philip got married in a lavish wedding on November 17th 2017, they are now blessed with a baby girl together.
