“Cancer Arrived At My Door Step” Miguna Miguna Calls Upon Kenyans For Help

Exiled lawyer Miguna Miguna is calling upon Kenyans to help his family in raising funds for the treatment of his sick relative.

In a post he shared on his social media accounts, Miguna said that his first cousin, Dan Ong’or of Kisumu County government, was diagnosed with cancer.

“Dan ONG’OR is my first cousin. He works for the Kisumu County Government. This sad news (cancer) arrived at my doorstep at the worst time. Please help out if you can. The link is provided hereunder. cc: @AnyangNyongo@ProfOjiendaTom,” he said.

According to the website carrying out the fundraising, Ongo’or was diagnosed with Metastatic melanoma.

Melanoma is a type of skin cancer that begins from the cells that control the skin color. Metastatic melanoma therefore is a melanoma that spreads to other parts of the body through the lymphatic system and blood vessels.

Some of the symptoms that one might have the disease include; hardened lumps under the skin, swollen or painful lymph nodes, troubled breathing and persistent coughing, bone pain etc.

It has however been difficult to determine the stage of the disease that Ongo’r is ailing because there is no functional Pet Scan in the country therefore he can not begin his treatment.

CT Scan however indicated that Ongo’or’s lungs and stomach are still safe.

“We require urgent assistance to prevent the spread,” read the statement on the M-changa website.

By the time of publishing this article, a total of Kshs169, 343 had been raised. 86 days are left to conclude the fundraiser.

Miguna Miguna followers shared some heartfelt messages and here are some of the comments on twitter:

“So sad general,we wish him quick recovery and God’s mercy to get the necessary resources for his medical expenses,” Moses Juma tweeted.

Nicholas Muriithi advised, “Kindly take him to pastor Ezekiel New Life Church in Mombasa chazu in majaoni village.. Jesus will him for Free…And he will receive his healing their.”
