DP William Ruto has blasted President Uhuru Kenyatta over his recent remarks about him and called upon him to stop threatening him because he was among people who helped him clinch the presidency in 2013 as well as in 2017.
Ruto who was speaking in a campaign in Kapsabet, Nandi county told Uhuru openly to concentrate on his project, Raila Odinga, instead of mentioning his name.
According to him, instead of the head of state tackling him, he should be informing Kenyans what Raila has in store for them and when he will stop troubling the country.
“That Kitendawili you are forcing on us has troubled Kenya and did not give you peace. We can’t allow you to pus us. I want to tell the president to stop attacking me. Just campaign for your Kitendawili candidate. Why are you talking about me?Mr President, stop talking about me, talk about your candidate,” Ruto remarked.
The second in command called upon the president to leave him alone and let respect prevail between them.
“Leave me alone. I supported you when you needed a man to support you. If you don’t want to support me, leave me alone. With a lot of respect my friend Mr. President be a descent human being. Being thankful stop pretending yet we are the ones who helped you. Now you are threatening me, as long as you don’t kill my children, let us respect each other,” Ruto said.

Recently while in Naivasha, President Kenyatta blasted Ruto for lying to Kenyans about several things yet he has been in government. The president has also been criticizing him while drumming support for Odinga.
“Politics is about development not lying to Kenyans about being hustlers…then you go to Mombasa and tell them that people conspired against them. Everything I say here I can repeat in Mombasa, I don’t have two tongues like a snake. My hope is for every Kenyan to feel that the government belongs to them…not telling this person something and telling someone else something different. That is conmanship,” Uhuru said in part of his speech.
