On Wednesday afternoon, president William Ruto announced 10 more persons who he has nominated to cabinet.
Out of the 10, four are from the opposition and key allies of Azimio leader Raila Odinga.
Opiyo Wandayi has been nominated to the Energy and Petroleum Ministry while Former Mombasa governor Hassan Joho landed a slot in the ministry of Mining and Blue Economy.
John Mbadi was nominated to the National Treasury and former Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya nominated to the ministry of cooperatives and MSME Development.
This has however sparked reactions among Kenyans, with many of them opposing the nomination.
Renown activist Boniface Mwangi, who has been on the frontline in opposing government, has however called out Raila over the nominations of his allies, adding that he won’t get the AU seat.
“Zakayo has appointed corrupt people to fight corruption. It’s important to note Raila Odinga is a traitor. He has betrayed the people, and formed a government of national looting with Zakayo. Raila should say goodbye to that AU chairmanship bid. We shall oppose it. #RutoMustGo,” he shared on social media.
“@RailaOdinga are you saying these young men were murdered so that you, and your friends could get jobs? They died for a better Kenya, that’s free of bad leadership, corruption, tribalism and hand cheque politics. This is level of betrayal is unforgivable. We shall not forget,” he added.
