The Russian versus Ukraine war on Monday 7, 2022 entered its 12th day with the Russian troops continuing to kill innocent families.
According to statistics from Reuters as of Sunday, at least 9100 deaths had been recorded since the war began. Another 1500 non fatal injuries were recorded and a total of 1.5 million people displaced. Over 100 hundred buildings in Ukraine have so far been destroyed.
The world in general has condemned the Russian President Vladimir Putin for invading Ukraine except for a few including Syrian president, Bashar al-Assad and the son of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who recently applauded Russia for the step.
“The majority of mankind (that are non-white) support Russia’s stand in Ukraine. Putin is absolutely right!. When the USSR parked nuclear armed missiles in Cuba in 1962, the West was ready to blow up the world over it. Now when Nato does the same they expect Russia to do differently,” Kainerugaba shared on twitter
A group of women in Paris, France, have however taken their protests a notch higher by deciding to go bare chest to protest over the Russian president’s move to invade Ukraine, in front of the Eiffel Tower.
According to a video that was published on Visegrad 24’s twitter account on March 7, 2022, the women had paintings of the Ukrainian flag with words such as ‘Slava Ukraine’, ‘Feminists against war’ and ‘Stop Putin’s war’ written on their chests.
They also carried Ukrainian flags and had bands of yellow and blue flowers round their heads while shouting, ” Putin War Criminal.”
The women are said to have been from the Femen activists group and are known for going bare chests while in protest over various issues.
Putin faced similar protests in 2013 but he however responded to them saying, ” “I liked it … I didn’t catch what they were shouting, I didn’t even see if they were blondes, brunettes, or chestnut-haired.”
A number of Netizens have however been displeased by the femen move and condemned them for their bold step.
