A boda boda rider from Kisii who was accused of the gruesome murder of a 14-year old girl has been found guilty by the Kisii High Court.
Cyrus Ondieki was convicted by the Justice Rose Ougo after the prosecution presented 9 witnesses who testified against the accused.
The deceased who was identified by the court papers as DN met her death after disappearing on December 26, 2018.
Ondieki is said to have killed her before stashing her body parts in two sacks.
Her mutilated body was found two days after she disappeared in a farm with both hands tied.
According to the deceased’s mother, the boda boda rider was seen with her a day before her disappearance.
She added that when they visited the suspect’s house after finding her daughter’s body, they found blood spilled inside the house.
A pair of slippers belonging to the deceased was also retrieved from the house.
The accused is now awaiting his judgment.
Elsewhere a teacher was sentenced to 20 years in jail for defiling a class six pupil.
The 45-year old primary school teacher was accused of defiling the 13-year old girl in 2016.
Fredrick Mwangi was sentenced by Milimani senior principal magistrate David Ndungi after the court found him guilty of the offence.
While passing the sentencing, the magistrate jailed the teacher with the sentence saying it is the minimum sentence for such an offence as provided by the law.
“The accused who is a teacher defiled a child. The rights of his children are not superior to that of the child he defiled, I hereby sentence him to 20 years in prison as provided by law,” ruled the magistrate.
Mwangi was accused of defiling the minor who was in class six then whom he had accommodated in his house in March 2016 at Mathare North in Nairobi.
