Wambui Kamiru-Collymore celebrated her husband’s 63rd birthday posthumously and used the opportunity to thank Michael Joseph for introducing her to the late Safaricom CEO.
Bob Collymore would have turned 63 on 13th January 2022 if he was still alive, it has been two years since he passed on.
Collymore’s widow Wambui Kamiru didn’t forget about her late husband’s birthday, she celebrated in on a post on social media.

Former Safaricom CEO Michael Joseph commented on Wambui’s post revealing how much he still misses his late friend.

Wambui replied to Michael Joseph’s tweet by expressing her gratitude to him for introducing her to her late husband.
“I miss him too MJ. Thank you for bringing him into my life. and ofcourse, Happy Birthday to you too!” Wambui Kamiru tweeted.

The late Safaricom CEO died on July 1st, 2019 at his Kitisuru home in Nairobi after a long battle with acute myeloid Leukemia – a cancer of the blood and bone marrow.
Collymore took a break from his job at Safaricom in October 2017 and traveled to UK to receive treatment, he returned in July 2018 to resume duties.
His condition deteriorated in 2019 and he died on July 1st. He left behind a wife and four children.
His body was taken to Lee Funeral Home for just a few hours before it was transported to Kariokor Hindu Crematorium where it was burnt down to ashes.
The late Collymore was born in South American nation of Guyana where he was raised by his grandmother after his mother left home to find work in the UK.
Collymore started school in Guyana while still living with his grandmother until age 16 when he moved to the UK to join his mother in 1974.
He came to Kenya and was appointed chief executive officer of Safaricom in 2010. He fell in love with Kenya and made friends with businessmen, politicians and even celebs.
