Blow To Raila As Ruto Successfully Penetrates His Nyanza Backyard Using Very Simple Strategies

Date:

Kenya Kwanza, an alliance associated to William Ruto, has continued to attract support from unlikely groups of people with the latest being the Movement of Democracy Growth(MDG), a political party from Nyanza that is headed by Ugenya MP David Ochieng’.

MDG, which is ODM’s biggest rival in the region, was welcomed to Kenya Kwanza on Friday August 26 and they have already signed an agreement to be part of the Alliance.

Addressing the press after sealing the deal, Ruto revealed that they had been in consultations with MDG for a few weeks now before the final agreement was reached.

“It is historical because this is a party largely from the Nyanza region and we are looking forward to forging the necessary partnership and building necessary networks so that going in to the future, we can mainstream the people on Nyanza, in working with the rest of Kenya in ensuring that we build politics are devoid of ethnicity, unnecessary conflicts,” Ruto said.

The president-elect further expressed hope that he will be able to visit any part of the country without any problem in the next few months.

“The government that we are going to set up after the processes of elections are concluded will leave no region behind,” Ruto said.

On the other hand, MDG party leader said that his party was the only piece that was missing in Kenya Kwanza’s matrix to run the government.

He also noted that they had similar policies and direction with Ruto’s team and as a growing party, they found friendship and ambience in Kenya Kwanza, which does not intend to leave anyone behind.

“As MDG, we believe that the most of the things in our manifesto lie at the heart of the Kenya Kwanza manifesto,” Ochieng’ said.

Aside from that the Ugenya MP added that Kenya Kwanza had room to nurture young leaders.

“I believe that working with you, I found myself in a place where I am going to learn so much about how things are done and how they are done so well,” the MP said.

He also wondered why IEBC is only faulted in the presidential elections when the same commission oversaw elections of all other elective positions and the results were greatly welcomed.

MDG was a member  of Azimio-OKA before their defection. Other notable leaders of the party include former Kisumu governor Jack Ranguma, former Kisumu senator Fred Outa and Olago Olouch.
