Football fans who derive joy from betting with Betika may have to temporarily suspend their gambling activities after the Betika website went down this evening.

Betika site developed a problem, with many gamblers unable to place their bets as usual. This latest development has seen many Kenyans express their disappointments with the site, terming it a disgrace to “their part time career.”

For instance, Evans De Princy posted; “Please fellow gamblers lets not waste time with this site it has got a problem. (1) You place a bet then it tells you it failed but coming on the bet slip you placed (2) Deposit delay till the matches start, let’s move to odibet, it is fast in reflecting deposits and winning updates. Am shifting right away never to place a bet. This should be closed like other sites nkt!”

Other Kenyans also complained of placing deposits, which took more than 30 minutes to reflect. Barry KE wrote: “I deposited to betika but balance is zero 0710932***. Whatsup with your system.”

As expected, some serious investors/gamblers went to the extent of calling but to their shock, their efforts were futile as the customer care assumed their phone calls.

Betting has been a serious issue in Kenya with the government reigning in to regulate these companies’ activities. Just recently, sportpesa was the most talked about gambling firm before their closure.
