Former Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa has slammed ODM leader Raila Odinga for making demands that he must be declared the president elect by the Supreme Court yet the courts don’t have the ability to do so.
Speaking in Nakuru during the swearing in ceremony of elected governor Susan Kihika, Jumwa said that by his utterance, Raila is putting the country at risk yet Kenyans were already going on with their lives.
“Hon. Raila has lost direction. He has taken the roles up that are not his by forcing the court before the petition is even heard, threatening the courts especially the supreme court and by persuading and threatening and inciting Kenyans who have already moved on with life that he must be announced the president yet he is aware that our courts don’t have that power,” she said.
According to her, Raila should have prepared himself for the outcome of the election because he was not the only one in the race.
Jumwa added that Chebukati carried out his responsibilities as required by the law no matter how much Raila insults him.
Aside from that, Jumwa, who unsuccessfully vied for the Malindi gubernatorial, congratulated Kihika over being sworn in, adding that she is confident that she will work for the people of Nakuru.
