A self-styled ‘bishop’ has been charged for fleecing parents over Sh1 billion.
Aaron Siribaleka, Chief director of Youth Vulnerable Children and Orphans (YVCO) Alliance Africa was on Tuesday charged along with other counts for obtaining by false pretense and conspiring with one Jude Kalanzi, a pastor at Freedom Covenant Cathedral, Nansana to fleece innocent parents.
YVCO is an organization purporting to provide child care, health, educational development to the vulnerable and orphans.
The accused – Siribaleka and Kalanzi are accused of defrauding their victims over Sh1 billion by falsely pretending to sponsor vulnerable children and orphans.
Some of the victims who said to have been conned by the two include Beatrice Ilaleit, Fred Munale, Harriet Agaba, and Marina Kachwamango.

In March, he was charged alongside four others over fleecing parents of sh176m in a similar scheme.
Bishop and his co-accused have so far denied the charges.
Magistrate Doreen Kalungi released Siribaleka on an Sh8 m cash bail while his co-accused were released on an Sh50 million bond and ordered to surrender their national identity card to the authority.
