Police Constable (PC) Viviana Williams went viral in June after sharing a video in which she was complaining of sexual harassment by senior officers.
Williams also said she faced discrimination from the randy senior police officers after she turned down their romantic advances.
Her video went viral on social media sparking public uproar which prompted the Office of the Inspector General of Police to prohibit police officers from sharing any information on with the public.
Williams, who is based in Mombasa, released a song in July titled ‘Kilio Changu’ highlighting her plight in the service.
In the song, the police constable reiterated the earlier sentiments she made in her viral video, saying she was tired of the police service because her complaints fell on deaf ears.
Williams has now been fired from the police service altogether, she revealed this while speaking during an interview with Massawe Jappani on Radio Jambo.
The depressed former officer said most of her former colleagues are also stressed because of sexual harassment, little salary, having to buy out transfers, sharing out houses as well as long stays at the work stations doing what they don’t want for their bosses.
Williams went ahead to say now that she is off work she will take out any job just to sustain herself. Her message to police IG Hillary Mutyambai is that he should treat all complaints by police officers with the seriousness that it deserves.
“Usipeane transfer bila kujua mbona mtu anakua transfered,” said Williams.
Viviana Williams has currently turned to gospel music, she is still optimistic that she will get another job to sustain herself.
