Former Kakamega Senator Doctor Boni Khalwale has mocked President Uhuru Kenyatta for appointing Rtd. General Samson Mwathethe at KenGen.
Mr. Mwathethe was appointed by the board of directors of the Kenya Electricity Generating Company PLC (KenGen) in a meeting held today. He replaced Mr. Joshua Choge who has served in that position for the last six years.
Boni, through his official Facebook Page sent congratulatory messages to Uhuru for appointing “such a young brilliant mind.” The former senator added that “Wazee should wait for 21st innovation empowerment.”
Mr Khalwale’s sentiments come amidst several complaints directed towards Jubilee government on the way they dish government positions. Young people have in the past registered their displeasure citing biasness when distributing these positions.

The trend of recycling old faces in government positions is not a new phenomenon in Kenya. Youths have had to forego these prime positions for the elder generation who tend to be lucky when it comes to these appointments.
Boni Khalwale is a strong ally of the deputy president William Ruto. He has on several occasions held campaign rallies and meetings to woo support for Dr. Ruto.
