Renowned media personality Betty Kyalo has finally addressed the situation leading to the auctioning of her items in the Flair by Betty Beauty Shop.
In a statement, the media personality lamented that the landlord refused to reduce the property’s rent, making it hard to keep her business running.
She attributed the decision to economic downtime which made her accumulate rent arrears leading to the auction.
“Obviously running a business in Kenya has become so difficult. Landlords don’t want to reduce rent and it becomes a huge burden on businesses that are struggling because of the economic slowdown,” she stated.
Nonetheless, the media personality cum businesswoman announced that she is set to open a new branch in Upperhill Nairobi.
Kyalo indicated that the new beauty shop is bigger and better compared to the one set to be auctioned.
“Also After 2 months of expansion, we reopen Aftershave by Flair, Upperhill, La Baita. Gentlemen Come through. I’ll be there today!” she announced.
“I let it go. I am happier. I sleep better. My peace of mind is more important than a name. I’m good,” she added.
Keysian Auctioneers had earlier announced that Flair by Betty will be auctioned over rent arrears.
In a notice, the auctioneer listed various items which will be sold through the public auction including 3 dismantled well shelves, a massage bad stand, 2 massage beds, a small serve rack, a glass shelf, 4 big mirrors, towel warmers and dressing tables.
A binatone microwave, small rolling seats, an office table, 12 barber seats, 3 seats attached with sinks, 9 CCTV cameras, a Huawei router, a small foot massage, a Mac Coffee maker, Hiluck video recorder, one-door fridge and others were also listed in the auctioneers list.
