Deputy president William Samoei Ruto has answered president Uhuru Kenyatta over his recent being on top of cars remarks.
The president on Monday dismissed his deputy as someone who has only been politicking at public rallies on top of cars for the past five as opposed to working for the government. He made those remarks in Mombasa county as he launched the Universal Health Coverage.
“This thing of talking, with empty promises without doing anything, everywhere there is nothing, work is not done on top of cars it is done in the offices, in the hospitals,” said President Kenyatta.
The head of state was forced to comment on the issue after William Ruto and his United Democratic Alliance (UDA) brigade alleged that he was planning to be Raila Odinga’s deputy president in the next government.
While addressing a political rally on Tuesday, Ruto answered Uhuru by saying that offices can only be used to implement theories and not practical activities. He also reminded Uhuru that he has been in politics for the longest time and knows what he is doing.
“I have been in politics long enough that you plan theory in offices but you execute practicals in the field, sometimes on top of cars. So hauna haja ya kusumbuana” said William Ruto.
The deputy president added that the only team that can build on the success of this regime and their failures for the last 10 years was the kenya kwanza Alliance.
“And the only team that can build on the success of the last 10 years and correct the wrongs of the last 10 years is the kenya Kwanza team. The other team have no clue where this thing came from and where it is going and they are obsessed with trying to manage power and manage positions and to manage successions so that they can continue to load over the people of Kenya.” said Ruto.
The deputy president continued: “And i want to tell them that we are ready for that contest my friend bring it on! We are very ready to compete with them and our team is the only one understanding the good and the bad in government. We say hatutapangwa tena kama wakenya.”
