Beatrice Marshall, the former KTN news anchor, is receiving a dose of her own medicine after criticising women for having many children.
On Friday, May 1, the China Global TV Network anchor questioned why women should give birth to up to eight at this time and age where people are surrounded by technology.
Posting on her Twitter account, the journalist said she did not understand how a woman would give birth to eight children with all the birth control, education and sensitisation available.
“In these economic times, and with all the birth control, education, sensitisation available, why would you have eight kids?” she questioned.
Netizens did not take the issue lightly and decided to unleash their anger on the anchor saying she did not know how to approach the matter.
In a lengthy tweet, an angry Boniface Mwangi responded to her question stating reasons why with all the technology such a thing was possible.
Dr. Njoki Ngumi Beatrice, you as a media practitioner usually approach matters with much more insight/incisiveness, as well as much more empathy/compassion. This in particular is a matter in which one needs kilos and kilos of both. The above truly wasn’t the take to lead with.
MrsM Njoki me I am confused!!! Some of the tweets about this- I cant even watch the story because as a mother I am pained to think of where she had reached to be boiling stones to feed kids. Privilege and lack of empathy- hell of a combination
Kenna You’re a journalist, smh
Dennis Mwendwa Talking from a point of privilege..Smh
Kithikamau It is heartwarming to see such ignorance roundly chastised. Do better,
Phil You’re in your echo chamber .
Kingsley Okemwa Someone who has lived in the city all her life should not comment on things she doesn’t know. Do you know that there are no government facilities in certain areas. Like you have to drive for 1h or walk for 6h to get to a dispensary that does not even have basic supplies?
