President Uhuru Kenyatta has resolved to use a softer tone in efforts to convince his Deputy William Ruto to Join The Building Bridges Initiative(BBI) bandwagon.
Just to make his intentions clear as he received the BBI report in Kisii on Wednesday, the head of state said that the report is not against any individual or community.
“Let us not lose this opportunity. This is not a document against any individual or community,” Uhuru said.
Uhuru said he will not talk about the contents of the report adding that he does not want people to accuse him of influencing its outcome.
“We are not looking for the things we disagree about. Let us bring that consensus and move forward. I want to plead with my political colleagues that this is not the time to create division. This is the time for each and every person to show leadership,” he said.
Today is the day we have been waiting for. We now have a report that people can discuss. The document is not for President Uhuru Kenyatta and myself but this generation and beyond. Let the informed conversation begin now. I'm certain we will arrive at a consensus. pic.twitter.com/K9ZJDqfAzL
