Babu Owino: Okanga Has Been Denied Bail Because Of Orders From Above

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, on Monday, paid a visit to Azimio’s fanatic Nuru Okanga who is being held in custody.

Owino visited Okanga  at Muthaiga police station with a box full of loaves of bread.

According to the lawmaker, Okanga was arrested for telling the president and his deputy the truth about the high cost of living.

He added that he was yet to be released on bail because the orders to have him in custody are from above.

“Today,I Went to visit Nuru Okanga at Muthaiga Police Station.Okanga was arrested for telling Ruto and Gachagua the truth about the High cost of living and the draconian Finance Bill.I released/paid cash bail for 27 accused persons from the station.Okanga could not be admitted on police bail because the officers claim that Kesi imetoka Juu.who else ako Juu Kama sio Mungu?Wonders will never end!!” Babu Owino wrote online.

Okanga was arrested on June 11 at his home in Kayole over comments he shared on multiple social media platforms including TikTok.

The posts were considered detrimental to the state while some of his remarks, that are feared they may contribute to disturbances affecting peace, order, and public safety, were published on a number of websites linked to him.

After his arrest, he was taken to DCI headquarters along Kiambu Road for questioning.

He wa later presented at the Milimani Law Courts. The judge ordered that he is detained fro five days at the Muthaiga police station as investigations into the matter continue
