The COVID-19 pandemic has revealed some interesting/strange facets of people. One of those people is Embakasi MP Babu Owino who showed off his teaching skills on Facebook live.
On Friday, May 1, the MP took to Facebook where he taught Mathematics to Form Four students for approximately one hour and 26 minutes.
Some of the topics that the MP taught include; differentiation, trigonometry, logarithms, algebraic expressions and calculus.
He began the class by assuring his online students that mathematics was not a difficult subject before he began his lesson.
“This is Hon Babu Owino but today I am a teacher. First, I would want to wish Kenyans a happy labour day and would also urge Kenyans to adhere to the Covid-19 directives to combat the virus.
“I want to take this opportunity to apologise to all the learners who do not have internet or smartphones to access my tutorials,” he stated.
He swiftly took the students through the lesson as his students relayed their thoughts on the comment section.
When he was done with the lesson, he promised to teach mathematics topic wise and added that he would set time for chemistry as well in the coming week.
“We will also proceed with mathematics, I will be communicating the days. Next time, we will handle the mathematics topic wise. We will be dealing with a topic then solving quick questions on that topic,” he concluded.
During previous press conferences, Education CS George Magoha has reiterated that the national examination calendar will not be altered to enable students to make up for the time lost during the Covid-19 pandemic.
He encouraged students to continue learning online and make use of technology to gain more knowledge.
