Embakasi member of parliament Babu Owino is quickly becoming broke than he anticipated following a huge mistake he made that has haunted him to date.
Since shooting DJ Evolve, Babu Owino has literally become a slave of his action with most of his money going to take care of DJ Evolve’s life.
Sources close to the Embakasi East legislator have also confirmed to Sonko News that the issue of DJ Evolve has taken a toll on his finances because of the huge hospital fee and other random xpenses.
According to the Daily nation, the Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has agreed to buy an apartment for the family of Mr Felix Orinda, popularly known as DJ Evolve after attempted murder charges against him were withdrawn.
The Tuesday court ruling revealed that the member of parliament will pay not only the medical bills for DJ Evolve but also his daily personal expenses.
“As a condition of withdrawal, the MP will purchase an apartment for the victim, which will resolve the issue of house rent, and continue paying the hospital bills of the victim who comes from a humble background,” said Senior Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi.
According to the magistrate, the new apartment will take care of the house rent which has been bothering the family of DJ Evolve who is from a very humble background.
The withdrawal of Babu Owino’s case and his acquittal came in the wake of DJ evolve making an application by the victim requesting for the same. Apparently, the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) had also welcomed the application by the victim.
“Taking all the above into account I have come to the conclusion that this is a matter [in which] a court should encourage reconciliation as envisaged in the Constitution and, therefore, I will allow the request to withdraw the charges against the accused in count one – attempted murder. He is acquitted,” said the magistrate.
This implies that Babu Owino will only face charges for behaving badly with firearm in public as opposed to the attempted murder charges which had been giving him sleepless nights.
On his part, Babu Owino welcomed the ruling while confirming that they agreed in the spirit of forgiveness together with the family of DJ Evolve.
“I can just say God is so great. He has always been with me. He has never forsaken and never left me and I am thanking Him.
“There are a lot of things we agreed on medical and compensation of physical things. We agreed in the spirit of forgiveness. DJ Evolve’s family is my family and mine is his. DJ Evolve is my brother forever,” Owino said.
