Raila Odinga’s youngest daughter Winnie Odinga has found herself on the wrong side for allegedly calling upon Azimio supporters to engage in peaceful protests on Monday, when the Supreme Court will be making a ruling on presidential petition on Monday.
According to a screenshot allegedly taken from her Facebook page, Winnie called upon the supporters to engage in peaceful marches in towns across the country, while quoting Mahatma Gandhi.
“This Monday, all Azimio supporters are invited to peaceful marches to the centers of all towns in honor of our great journey and push of justice,” the post read.
A spot check on her Facebook page however established that there was no such post with some netizens claiming that the post has since been deleted.
Addressing the matter, ODM’s communication director Philip Etale has however denied claims of Azimio calling for such protests.
“Azimio has not called for any form of demonstrations anywhere in Kenya. Our Lawyers presented facts & we are confident of a positive ruling by SCOK tomorrow. We ain’t sponsoring any articles in local & international media, neither are we soliciting for sympathy from any quarters,” Etale said.
Raila Odinga’s campaign secretariat spokesperson Makau Mutua also flagged the post as fake terming it propaganda.
FAKE. Shame on these PROPAGANDISTS. pic.twitter.com/kWBCz2ozy4
