Just as the English language is not meant for everyone, the same goes for Swahili as proved by Michelle Ntalami.
The Marini natural CEO proved that she is poor in Swahili as she struggled to construct a simple sentence.
Ntalami and her business partner Niyati Patel were off to Mombasa and they were very excited about the trip even though it is not clear when that was.
“Karibu kwenye kaunti cha Mombasa,” Ntalami said which translates to welcome to Mombasa county.
Niyati corrects her saying that it is “Kaunti la Mombasa” but she insists that it is “Kaunti cha Mombasa.”

Ntalami goes ahead to say that, “That is a pretty good short at it if I do say so myself” adding that she had tried her best.
This got her fans wondering whether she schooled in the country as others advised to go for Swahili classes.
“This is utter nonsense..be proud of your language,” Gigis lay told her.
Over the weekend, Tanzania bongo artist Diamond Platnumz became a laughing stock with his poor statement in English in an episode in the a reality show that recently premiered on Netflix titled Young Famous and African.
In the episode, Diamond was having a conversation with South African rapper Nadia Nakai who asked him how old he was.
Diamond took some time to respond to the question and ended up saying “31st”. Kenyans could not be calm about that and made the singer a subject of discussion saying that he said he was 31st years old.
Tanzanians however got angry with Kenyans and defended their own saying that mastery of English does not mean that one is smart.
