William Ruto took tea and ate fries at a kibanda hotel in Meru as he promoted his hustler narrative, but the hotel has now shut its doors to the surprise of everyone.
Ruto’s two-day tour of Meru county saw him traverse the region on November 15th and 16th to drum up support for his 2022 presidential bid.
On Tuesday November 15th, Ruto demonstrated how his bottom-up economic model/hustler narrative works when he decided to take tea at a kibanda hotel in Meru.
The deputy president took to social media and shared photos of himself and his Tangatanga brigade taking tea and eating chips at the hotel.
“Time to recharge at the Kiirua Hustlers Self Help Group hotel as we shared a cup of tea,” Ruto tweeted.

The hotel which opened its door the very day Ruto was in town shut its door the moment the DP left to campaign elsewhere.
Apparently it was just another PR campaign meant to sell the DP’s bottom-up economic model/hustler narrative.
Unconfirmed report indicates that Ruto’s breakfast was prepared at 4 star hotel in Meru town called Alba Hotel and taken by his chefs to the Hustler Hotel for a scripted PR.
Once the pictures were taken and posted on social media, the small room was immediately closed down.

It’s not the first time Ruto is engaging in such scripted PR. On November 2nd 2021, the DPÂ together with his entourage took tea at the Bottom Up hotel in Nyamira County.
Ruto breakfast at the hotel and he directed his aide to give the couple (owners) Ksh100,000 so that they could improve the facility.
“Mbuya mono bwana Zachary Matunda for the cup of tea at your Bottom Up Hotel at Bomwagamo, North Mugirango, Nyamira County. Bottom Up ndio form!” Ruto tweeted.

The bottom Up hotel trended on social media for days after Kenyans realized it was a mere PR exercise meant to hoodwink citizens.
