Deputy president William samoei Ruto has publicly opened up on the recent presidential debate where Raila Odinga skipped the debate.
Ruto while speaking in Eldama ravine Baringo county revealed that he was very disappointed since he had planned to frustrate Raila Odinga during the debates.
“Angekuja angekiona. Nilikuwa nimempangia sana. Ako na bahati alikimbia otherwise ningemnyorosha ju nilikuwa nimempangia sana.” Said Ruto.
The deputy president also stated that Raila did not attend the debate because he was afraid that he was going to put him to task to explain why he joined the government through handshake instead of being in the opposition.
Ruto also took a swipe at the Luo nation for always stoning him whenever he goes to Nyanza, something which he attributed to Raila Odinga as he reminded him of his peaceful rallies in Riftvalley.
“Shame on Raila Odinga because in his backyard no one can go there. Those people stoning people at their background are now telling us what.” Said a visibly angry Ruto.
After the debate, the deputy president was a frustrated man after Yvonne Okwara of Citizen and Erick Latiff of KTN put him to task by asking difficult questions, leaving him with very little time to attack his opponent Raila Odinga.
At the same time, Ruto also accused his boss president Uhuru Kenyatta of planning to cause violence on the election day.
According to the Kenya Kwanza flagbearer, the chiefs are being used by the state to fulfill the scheme.
As a result, he urged the chiefs to stay away from election issues as he assured them of job security if he takes over the leadership of the country on 9th August.
The deputy president also took a swipe at the Azimio aspirants such as the Baringo senator Gideon Moi, reminding the locals to vote for the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) aspirants.
