The move by the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga to land in Kisumu county ahead of the election of speaker has angered his supporters.
Raila had made his way to the Kisumu international airport on Monday where he was received by governor Anyang’ Nyong’o.
However, the move by Raila did not go well with Kenyans who accused him of holding the Luoland hostage to the point of going to micromanage who is to be the speaker in Kisumu county.
The ODM leader will hold a meeting with the MCAs ahead of tomorrow’s speaker election. The following were the comments from Raila’s supporters:
“Hehe you guys love dictatorship. Yani you still want ODM to give directives on who should be the speaker? Hi akili ya 6 piece ndio ilifanya tuanguke iyo kiti kubwa.”
“Raila Odinga is petty and failing totally. Must he dictate who becomes the county assembly speaker?’
‘If you see a man retreating to his backyard, jua kumeumana🤔🤔. Why do much interest in kisumu county speaker’s slot when you can’t even win a majority leader in Nairobi where there is higher stakes.”
“Kisumu should be left alone to decide for themselves. When I see these I remember the six peace chorus.”
I said that he has long lost focus. Simple and small things like who become speaker in Luoland excites him so much. Lacks objectivity and focus.”
“Now how will the county assembly speaker help us having missed the coveted presidency that we wanted all along?. Very simple reasons we do fail. There is an interest.”
“Raila is lowering himself so much.To all Kisumu county MCA please vote the opposite for you to be safe.”
“Raila is now misbehaving,,It’s time for us to make our own decisions. Must it always be about the person he wants, nkt!…Kisumu MCAs please put him to shame.”
The MCAs of kisumu must be above board, some are young, some are in their first term and would like to be elected again…they should not allow people who are in their last term to hinder what they promised their people by electing a speaker who will not champion their interest and demand for resources to enable them work effectively..
