“Angalia Sura Yake” Raila Doubts If Ann Njeri Is The Owner Of Kshs17billion Fuel Cargo

Date:

Azimio leader Raila Odinga has commented on the ongoing saga of Kshs17 billion oil between businesswoman Ann Njeri and the ministry of energy under the leadership of CS Davis Chirchir.

Raila has expressed doubt about Njeri being the owner of the contested oil, saying that the real owners were hiding behind her face.

According to him, the woman in question doesn’t seem to be one who can run such a business.

“Huyo mama wa mafuta umemwona yeye. Bishara ya mafuta unajua gharama yake, pesa ambayo inatatikana kufanya biashara ya mafuta, billion 17, angalia sura yake, yeye anawakilisha watu wengine, hao wenye anawakilisha ndio tunataka kujua, maanake nyingi ni kama sarakasi,” the opposition leader said during a press briefing on Thursday.

At the same time, Raila revealed that the oil deal, that president Ruto announced in April,  between Kenya and Saudi Arabia as well as UAE was a scam.

The former prime minister said that Kenya as a country was not part of the deal, dubbed Government to Government memorandum of

“There was no G-to-G. Kenya did not sign any contract with Saudi Arabia or the UAE. Only the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum signed a deal with state owned petroleum companies in the Middle East. Why Ruto chose to characterise the deal as a G-to-G is the first red flag that points to mischief in this deal. We now know that the characterization of this deal as G-to-G was meant to shield the three Kenyan companies from paying 30 per cent,” he said.

He added that the deal has seen the prices of oil in the country surge, among other economical effects.
