Keroche heiress Anerlisa Muigai is now claiming that she was not aware of the defamation lawsuit that was filed against her in March 2018.
Speaking to Mpasho, the businesswoman said that the case was done without her consent and that she was not even in court when Judge Said Chitembwe found her guilty of the offense.
“They never served me any papers, this was done maliciously. Undercover and without my consent. I am 100% unaware of this case,” she told Mpasho.
Judge Chitembwe made the ruling on the case filed by businessman Ben Kangangi on March 31,2022. Kangangi was rumored to be Muigai’s ex-boyfriend but she denied that saying that she has never dated him.
In his ruling, the judge directed Muigai to compensate Kangangi with Kshs 2 million for the damages he suffered due to her social media remarks.
“Given the evidence on record, I do find that a global award of Kshs. 2,000,000 shall be adequate compensation for the plaintiff. The plaintiff is hereby awarded Kshs .2million as general damages plus costs and interest,” Judge Chitembwe ruled.
Kangangi is said to have filed the suit after Muigai accused him of being a con artist. She said that she had taken a 19.9 billion loan on his behalf but when the time for paying the loan came that had been borrowed from a shylock, Kangangi disappeared.
She also maintained that she had been friends while dispelling claims that they had dated for five years then.
“So in the second week of being given the money is when Dennis(the Shylock) started demanding for his money as I had promised to return the money within a week. Ben had promised the same. Right away I started calling Ben but his phone went unanswered, all I was being told is that he was taking numerous trips to Dubai,” Muigai said in her post.
