Amina Mohamed has been dropped from the vacancy top position for the WTO.
The WORLD TRADE Organization members selected two final candidates: Nigeria’s Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and South Korea’s Yoo Myung-hee to advance to the final round in the race to the top position at the WTO.
Dr Okonjo-Iweala and Myung-hee have support from the European Union.
Amina Mohammed is the latest casualty against the odds and expectations.
There were five candidates remaining in the race, and Ms Amina was dropped alongside Liam Fox (United Kingdom) and Mohammad Maziad Al-Tuwaijri (Saudi Arabia) for failing to secure enough support.
