Gospel singer Ringtone is known for flaunting his flashy lifestyle on social media claiming that he is the richest musician in Africa.
From driving expensive cars to showing off expensive jewelry and also owning mansions in Runda and Karen, Ringtone has actually made his fans believe that he is living large but his haters think that he is always chasing after clout by showing off the expensive things he owns.
Just two weeks ago, the Sisi Ndio Tuko singer shared a video of himself claiming that he was wearing a watch worth Kshs15 million and the prints on his T-shirt were made with gold.
“Hey guys, this is Ringtone and I have a watch worth Kshs15 million and I have a T-shirt that has gold that could be costing a lot of money. Na imagine siringi. Nashukuru tu Mungu. God has just been faithful and he has made sure that I am just a golden boy, am handsome, it is God’s grace,” Ringtone said.
Ringtone has however come out to claim that he is broke and cannot afford fuel, therefore, he has to walk.
“Mahaters na Wakenya mimi niliishiwa sikuhizi naenda mguu. Nadhani mnafaa kufurahi sana nilikuwa nawaringia lakini siku hizi naenda mguu, but ni saawa tu Mungu ataniunua tena” Ringtone said in a video that was shared by Nairobi gossip club.
The video elicited reactions, with some wondering why people associate walking with poverty.
“Kwani kutembea mguu ni umaskini…Grow up ulidhani God alikupea miguu kama decorations ama,” Elizabeth Wakarindi commented.
“I thank God for what he has given me, sorry we walk and we don’t complain there’re people with cars and they are humble,” Anne Joseph said.
While Nicholas Klaus wrote, “It’s funny how Kenyans think, that walking is a symbol of poverty.”
