Suna East Mp Junet Mohammed is one of the close allies of Raila Odinga who were hit hard by the declaration of William Ruto as the president-elect in the August 9 general election.
Since the declaration, Junet has remained mum and Kenyans are wondering where he disappeared to.
The last time the vocal lawmaker shared an update on social media was on Monday August 15 when he wrote, “A travesty has been nipped in the bud. Kenya’s democracy shall endure. ||@makaumutua”, just minutes before the announcement of the presidential results.
Despite nursing his wounds after Odinga, whom he ‘worships’ much was not announced winner, most people expected that he would show up when Azimio was presenting their petition at the Supreme Court on Monday but that was not the case.
A number of Kenyans are connecting dots over his loud silence and here are some of their reactions.Â
“Weuh! Kwani what happened to those two crying baby boys of Mr Odinga; Junet and Joho? I was expecting them to be on the front line submitting azimio’s evidence to the Supreme Court of Kenya as they were the big noise makers during campaign rallies,” a twitter user said.
“The silence of @JunetMohamed is proudly sponsored by hustler nation,” Dennist5th noted.
“Junet Mohammed disappeared after eating pesa ya agents,” blogger Cyprian Nyakundi suggested.
It is however not only Junet who is missing in action. Hassan Joho, Lee Kinyanjui and outgoing Laikipia governor Nderitu Muriithi who were very instrumental in Raila’s campaigns have also gone quiet. Muriithi was the chairman of the former prime minister’s presidential campaigns.
The recently re-elected MP however made a public appearance on Tuesday August 24 in company of Makau Mutua at a restaurant.
