Lillian Nganga accused Alfred Mutua of being obsessed with her and this can partly be collaborated by the governor’s own admission that he is still hesitant to move on.
Mutua and Lillian officially announced their separation on August 15th 2021, months after rumors about the affair with Juliani had already been reported by blogs.
Speaking during an interview on Kiss FM, Mutua said that he was still not ready to jump into the next relationship despite months of separation with Lillian.
“You don’t jump from one relationship to another one that first. You can’t be frivolous. You need to take your time lakini watu wako. Kenya is a country with many beautiful people; wonderful women. Opportunities are there but let me concentrate. The most important thing for me is my children. I am a father, have a set of twins and I love my children. My life surrounds my children and my parents and relatives,” said Mutua.
The Machakos governor further said that dating was important and he likes to be in love, however he noted that he was ok being single at the moment.
“I am a lover and believe that we need to love, love from the bottom of your heart and love wholeheartedly. But it is good to be happy. I am very happy, I am content and life is good,” Mutua said.
Asked if he would remarry before the 2022 election, Mutua indicated that he would seek the next political seat without a spouse.
“It is good to have a wife but it is overrated. People will vote for you not your spouse. You are running the government as the elect not you and your spouse,” he said.
While Mutua is hesitant to move on, Lillian is enjoying a blissful relationship with Juliani who he is cohabiting with.
The former Machakos first lady filed a case at Milimani High Court seeking a restraining order against Mutua who has refused to let her go.
