Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua on Wednesday, September 23 told off Amani Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi over plagiarising his campaign slogans and language.
Posting on his twitter page Governor Mutua who has declared his intentions to run for the presidency of Kenya in 2022 pointed out the numerous occasions where he feels Mr. Mudavadi has copied him.
PLEASE STOP COPYING ME HON MUDAVADI. COME UP WITH YOUR OWN ORIGINAL STRATEGIES AND IDEAS pic.twitter.com/fPtlgiBxlV

Dr Mutua indicated that for the last year his supporters have noticed that Mr Mudavadi always copied his slogans, language and style of engagement with the public.
In the last one year, my supporters and I have noticed that every time I go public with an idea, a concept and even part of my manifesto, a few days or weeks later, Hon. @MusaliaMudavadi, comes out and says the same things or attempts to replicate what I have done. pic.twitter.com/PWMSWhBcsh

According to Mutua, he is the original creator of the slogan ” Pair Safe of hands” , which was synonymous with Musalia Mudavadis’ campaign in 2013.
“A few weeks ago, during my speech as I announced my 2022 candidature, I said that I was a “Safe Pair of Hands” with both national and county experience and that I was a neutral and balanced leader – what Kenyans need.
A few days later, Hon. Musalia Musavadi copied me and declared he was a “safe pair of hands” for similar reasons as mine,” he trumpheted.
In another instance, Dr Mutua says he was the first politician to address the youth in Sheng, which now Mudavadi is adopted, although he claims the ANC leader is struggling the street lingo synonymous with the youth of Kenya.
“I have been addressing the youth in their street lingo “Sheng” and have videos in Sheng about shunning tribalism and also recently, calling on them not be spectators in the political arena. Now again, Hon. Mudavadi, has copied me and released a video targeting the youth where he struggles to speak in Sheng to them, ” he said.
However some of his followers disagree with him and accuse him of ever whinning.
Twitter user @Kibabiifinest noted, “Mheshimiwa you like crying… Just the other day, you cried like a baby after just getting your hand squeezed kidogo tu alafu unasema you know KARATE SMH.”
The user was alluding to an event that took the nation by shock when Mutua reported to the police that Deputy President William Ruto, Wajir Township Member of Parliament Aden Duale and Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen threatened to ‘deal with him’ at State House on Wednesday December 11.
“I am writing to bring to your attention the fact that the above-named persons have on two different occasions threatened me,” said Mutua in a statement.
According to Mutua, DP Ruto issued him with threats at State House on December 11 during a Banquet for Barbados Prime Minister Mia Motley.

The comment by the DP amounted to threats, added Mutua.
The Machakos boss claimed that the DP said to him; Umekua ukinichapa sana lazima sasa nikugonge. Na nitakugong (You have been attacking me a lot, now, I must crush you and I will),” claimed Mutua.
Murkomen and Duale, Mutua said, issued him with threats on November 25 during the launch of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.
In his statement, Mutua attached the conversation excerpt in which he claims it contains the threats.
