Aisha Jumwa was at the airport when DPP ordered her arrest

That Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa has gone missing after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji approved her prosecution over the misappropriation of KSh 19 million constituency development funds is not unexpected.

Sources tell sonkonews.com that the besieged MP popular referred to as Mama Kiuno was at the Mombasa airport waiting to receive DP William Ruto when DPP for arrest.

But on receiving the news, she ordered her driver to speed off as she did not want to spend the weekend in jail.

 

” Mama alikua airport lakini aliposikia kamata mata Friday alaimabi dereva wako aondoke mbio,” said our source.

Detectives have now launched a manhunt to determine her whereabouts even as the courts have issued an arrest warrant on her, ordering her to appear in court latest on Monday, August 31.

As of Friday, August 28, morning, Jumwa’s alleged six accomplices had been nabbed by the police and presented in court.

DPP Haji accused the ODM legislator of fraudulently obtaining public funds through her proxies.

“The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) conducted investigations into allegations of misappropriation of national government CDF – Malindi constituency and abuse of office allegations by Aisha Jumwa, MP for Malindi who allegedly received KSh 57.7 million.

“It was alleged that several business entities controlled by Jumwa through her proxies fraudulently received the money and transmitted it to the MP ,” part of Haji’s statement read.
