Provost of ACK All Saints Cathedral has contracted coronavirus and has been admitted at Aga Khan Hospital, Nairobi.
In a notice to the church, Provost Sammy Wainaina said he had tested positive for COVID-19 and was admitted at Aga Khan Hospital on Tuesday 2nd June.
“This is a brief update from me to let you know that I tested positive for COVID-19 and I was admitted at Aga Khan Hospital on Tuesday 2nd June,” a notice from the Provost read.
According to the notice to the church, Provost Sammy said he was in good medical care and in a stable condition.
The priest also said he was feeling much better at the time he wrote the notice.
“I am in very good medical care. I am in a stable condition and feeling much better,” the Provost said.
In the notice Provost, Sammy Wainaina thank everyone for their prayers to him and his family.

He noted that he is hopeful that he would soon be out of the hospital in God’s grace.
Provost Sammy Wainana is not a guest to the members of the Anglican church nor to the public.
Apart from is captivating mass, Sammy is known to the public as a common figure at the ACK All Saint Cathedral for leading major occasions in the church. He has led the funeral masses of prominent leaders in Kenya, both politicians, and corporate leaders like the late Bob Collymore, and former governor of Bomet the late Gladys Laboso.
The news of the provost illness comes at a time when Kenya is battling to flatten the curve of the spread of novel coronavirus. On Friday the number of new infections in the country was at 134 bringing total infections to 2474.
