Health workers to pay half price when flying on Kenya Airways

Kenya Airways announced that healthcare workers can now book tickets at a half a price in Business and Economy class.

The airline said the move is to celebrate the country’s front line heroes in the fight against Covid-19.

The medical will now book tickets by Sep 30, 2020, to over 20 destinations.

Those who will be eligible for the offer must be a front-line health worker with a Health Worker ID which must be produced at the time of purchase and check-in.

They will also be required to have a scan of the ID which will be sent to the Contact Center for telephone purchases.

The national carrier noted that up to two free changes are allowed.

“Cancellations or refunds before departure permitted free of charge, not permitted after departure,” the airline said.

The move by the airline comes just months after Kenya Airways registered a net loss for the six months ended June 2020 that widened by 67.3 percent to Sh14.33 billion.

The loss at the airline was accounted on by the Covid-19 disruption that led to the grounding of flights.

Kenya resumed its international and domestic flight from July after President Kenyatta announced that domestic flights will resume on July 15 while international flight to resume.
