Ellen DeGeneres Fires Employees Over Bullying And Intimidation Allegations

American top TV show Ellen DeGeneres has parted with three of its top producers amid allegations of misconduct and sexual harassment.

The show host DeGeneres announced the news in a video meeting with staff noting that internal investigations were going on.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Ms. Ellen told her staff she was “so sorry for what this has become,”.

The overhaul comes days after an investigation by a journalist into allegations of bullying and intimidation on the show.

Warner Brother spokesperson confirmed the show had fired executive Ed Glavin and Kevin Leman as well as co-executive producer Jonathan Norman.

In a story aired this year, several ex-employees told an American media they experienced racing while working on the show.

Some of them accused Mr. Glavin of inappropriate touching and leading with fear and intimidation. While Leman and Norman were also accused of sexual harassment by former employees.

In an earlier statement to Buzzfeed News, Leman denied any sought of sexual impropriety and Norman said he was 100% denying the allegations. Ed Galvin is yet to publicly respond to the allegations.

Ellen DeGeneres however, distance herself from the claims of a toxic work environment, saying in a statement she had been “misrepresented” by those who worked with her and for her.

But Ms. DeGeneres apologized to her staff and said she was “glad the issues were brought to her attention”.

Various celebrities including singer Kevin Hart and Katy Perry has come out to support Ms. DeGeneres and her show.

While others such as Everybody Loves Raymond actor Brad Garret has supported the claims against Ellen’s program.

David McGuire, executive vice president of programming at Warner Brothers told in an email to staff that the studio was “absolutely committed” to “change and a new culture.

According to Buzzfeed News McGuire said: “Many of you have spoken with WarnerMedia’s investigators, and we thank you for your honesty.”
