On Wednesday, ODM leader Raila Odinga made his first public appearance after undergoing surgery in the United Arab Emirates.
While informing the public about the progress of the former prime minister, Raila’s youngest daughter posted on Twitter a special video from his father.
In the video, Raila appeared in a rare Orange polo t-shirt, short and casual shoes something that excited his fans.
The Twitter post also gave the ODM followers a sigh of hope after they began to question the health status of the AU special envoy for infrastructure.
Previously various accounts had emerged on what Raila is admitted to hospitals as those close to him including his elder brother Oburu Odinga and his wife Ida Odinga giving conflicting information.

Dr. Oburu said told a local daily that the former prime minister left the country and underwent a successful back surgery while Raila’s wife Ida Odinga discounted the account sparkling speculation on what could be ailing her husband.
“Jakom (Raila) is out of the country for a minor surgical operation on his back. It isn’t a serious health issue, but a minor one. So he is okay,” Dr. Oburu said.

Interestingly Ida refuted the claims including speculations that the former prime was in a critical condition.
“He is in the United Arab Emirates – Dubai based International Hospital run by Germans. He has been successfully been treated of a mild nerve disorder affecting one leg and not what has been alleged,” Ida said.
“Treat such rumors with utmost contempt and abhorrence. it is not right to speculate on someone’s health,” she added.
