President William Ruto is on a tour to Nyanza region and this Thursday he is in Homabay County.
The first in command was welcomed to the by county’s governor Gladys Wanga, National Treasury CS John Mbadi, Suna East MP John Mbadi among other leaders from the region.
While addressing a crowd, Homabay governor and ODM chairperson Glady Wanga could not hide her excitement after President Ruto included some of the Nyanza leaders to his broad-based government.
“Ever since independence there is no one from the Luo Community that has sat in the National Treasury CS seat. It is historical that today, Mbadi has come as the CS for National Treasury, and Opiyo Wandayi as CS for Energy,” she said.
The departure of Mbadi from ODM saw Wanga get elevated to the position of chairperson in the legendary opposition party.
“The last time you saw me, I was just nobody but today am the chairperson of the biggest party in Kenya ODM, it is the biggest party in the South of Sahara and North of River Limpopo,” she proudly said. “You have done us well. We are under Baba. You have done well by ending share holder politics. We were scared and that why we were hiding but you have united the whole country, thank you so much.”
Ruto however could not hold his laughter and at some point pointed his fingers at Wanga.
