“Own Your Mistake”Kioni Tells Off Raila For Linking Uhuru To His Deal With Ruto

Date:

Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni has responded to claims by ODM leader Raila Odinga that Uhuru Kenyatta called him to talk with president William Ruto for the sake of the country, during the nationwide protests that threatened the stability of the country.

According to him, Raila lied to the country, noting that Uhuru has never supported the current regime.

“Odinga’s claims about Kenyatta’s supposed encouragement to engage with Ruto are simply not true. If you look at Kenyatta’s recent actions and statements, it’s clear he does not support this government,” Kioni said in a press conference on Wednesday.

“He lied to the country. In the recent past, everyone has been wanting to say they have talked to Uhuru. Everybody is looking for validation from Uhuru. It is important to take responsibility of the decision people have taken. There is no need of dropping names  of individuals if you think that the decision  is wrong,” the secretary general added.

“Kenyatta’s stance is clear: he opposes joining a government responsible for causing widespread hardship and corruption. The notion that Kenyatta would endorse a partnership with Ruto’s administration is fundamentally flawed.”

Kioni added that Raila was trying to clear his name by dragging Uhuru’s name into the matter.

“Dragging other people’s names through the mud does not absolve you of your own poor decisions,” Kioni said. “When you make a mistake, it’s important to own up to it rather than shifting the blame.”

Kioni added that Jubilee now stands with Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper now that Raila’s ODM has joined government.

“We will be with the people led by Steven Kalonzo Musyoka. The people are the ones who said Ruto must go. Unfortunately for now when we say Ruto must go it is plus Mbadi,” he said
