Nairobi Women Rep Esther Passaris has claimed that the one month programme for youths protesting against the government is aimed at paralyzing the economy.
According to her, this only means that the challenges Kenyans are facing will rise, if the programme pushes through.
Passaris was speaking at thr breakfast show on K24.
“If you paralyze the economy of Kenya, the unemployment of 67% will increase to 70,” she said.
Fellow panelists, activists Kasmuel Mcoure and Wanjiru Gikonyo however told her off.
“That has been the programme of the political class since independence,” Mcoure said.
Gikonyo on the other hand remarked, “The political class doesn’t paralyze it, they look after their interests.”
Passaris was however at pains to explain her point as well as defending the president’s action
“It is easy to criticize from the outside but the inside structure that Ruto has inherited, for instance, I het where baba is coming from, I also get where Ruyo is coming from. When you look at NHIF, it has a lot of structural issues so he thought let me correct it with SHAF.
“The tone of the president right now is I got a country to run, I got people to serve,” sge said.
