Protestors Drop Empty Coffins Along Moi Avenue

Date:

Protests in Nairobi have taken a different twists as protesters showed up with empty coffins, dumping them along Moi Avenue, near Jevanjee Gardens.

The motive to leave the caskets on the streets however remains unknown.

The move has also raised questions on how the caskets entered CBD considering that the police had barricaded most roads.

“You cannot carry all those coffins to Nairobi CBD yet almost all roads have been closed and vehicles being checked. This needs answers. The country is sliding into a state of anarchy,” blogger Cyprian Nyakundi tweeted.

The police have since removed the coffins from the street.
