A man suspected of stealing in Mombasa is lucky to be alive, after police intervened to rescue him from angry locals, who had taken to the streets to protests against the government.
In a video shared on X, the angry mob got hold of the suspect roughing him up as some of them descended on him with blows.
There are also those who were captured trying to defend the him from the mob.
The police intervene putting him in a police car that was standing by.

Kenyans have however taken to the streets to continue with the protests, until their grievances.
In Nairobi, police have taken measures to ensure that whatever was witnesses on June 25 does not recur.
Police have mounted road blocks and barriers to ensure that the crowds don’t reach parliament and city hall.
Also no pedestrians or motorists are allowed to go beyond the round about.
